Calvin Finch has recently assumed the position of Director of the new Texas A&M Water Conservation and Technology Center after 20 plus years of water conservation related work. During his 12 years at the San Antonio Water System he served as Water Conservation Director, Water Resources Director, and Director of Special Programs and Regional Initiatives. His most recent assignment was as SAWS representative on the Edwards Aquifer Recovery Implementation Program. After 40 years of dispute the stakeholders in this effort were able to reach consensus on a plan to manage the Aquifer that will stabilize the availability of water resources while protecting the Endangered Species at Comal and San Marcos Springs. Dr Finch received his Ph.D. in horticulture from Texas A&M University.

Dr. Finch will relate the goals of the Texas A&M Water Conservation and Technology Center(WCTC) in relation to the Texas Water Resource Plan and he will describe the initial projects that are being conducted, negotiated, and proposed in the target areas of municipal water conservation, recycling, brackish groundwater and energy development and water use.
